Nova is my Tenterfield Terrier.

 

This photo was taken the day I brought her home. Just two weeks later, I was rushing to the local vet for an emergency visit. That day, I realised how vital vets are and how much we rely on them.

 

It sparked a deeper curiosity about the profession—its challenges, workforce shortages, and the mental toll on vets. I kept hearing about “flexible locum work,” but the process was chaotic—lots of back-and-forth, no visibility on availability, and too much stress.

I didn’t know anyone in the field, but with my tech background, I knew I had to do something to help.

After 1,000+ hours of co-designing with over 100 locum vets and practice managers across Australia, Nova has become Australia’s fastest-growing locum and community platform.
